I wanted to take that familiar image and pivot it toward environmental advocacy, using it as a metaphor for how we must shield 'Mother Earth' from the growing threat of pollution.\r\nThe goal is to show that sustainability isn't just about massive shifts, but the cumulative power of small, daily actions. My client gave me carte blanche with \"Go wild, imagine anything,\" so I drew the linework without considering the engineering nightmares ahead.\r\nThe Struggle:​\r\nWhen production actually began, reality hit hard. This 3‑meter long, irregularly shaped organic installation was a beast. Not only was it difficult to flip over, but finding the center of gravity for hanging was a nightmare. As we layered on the random materials, the balance kept shifting. Hanging a 50kg+ structure beneath a light membrane, trying to find equilibrium from preset anchor points… the pit was so deep I wasn’t sure I could climb out.\r\nThe Triumph:​\r\nThankfully, we pulled it off. This was the most anxiety‑inducing installation I’ve done this year. Deconstruction and reconstruction—this is the process I find most captivating.\r\nWithin this journey, I search for the medium of expression, using \"paper\" as a language to tell a story.\r\nFor the vivo X Fold3 series—a device I call \"Feather White\"—I created a \"lightness\" installation.\r\nI was struck by the expansive, paper-thin screen when unfolded, and the sleekness of its back panel; it feels like a meticulously carved work of art.\r\nIts lines are clean and sharp, while the subtle textures on the back shell emanate an elegant, soft luster.\r\nThe moment I touched its lightweight frame, I knew I wanted to use natural tree bark pulp to sculpt feathers as delicate as cicada wings, expressing the concept of \"lightness.\"\r\nRich in fibers, we decomposed and reconstructed the pulp through repeated experiments and drying cycles until we achieved a texture mirroring the \"Feather White\" finish of the phone. Using squeeze bottles, I drew the form of the feathers and traced the fine seams between them. Once dried, I carefully peeled them away from the base. Held up to the light, every stroke and fiber stands distinct, capturing the frozen moment of a feather floating in air.\r\nThis became the visual expression of the art installation: light, ethereal, and airy. While each season has its own signature colors, they also possess distinct representative elements. Thus, winding new buds, blooming flowers, falling ginkgo leaves, snowballs, and snowflakes—combined with a moon crafted from oil-painted leaves and clouds shaped from cotton—form a three-dimensional tableau of the seasons, clouds, and the moon.\r\nAll elements were deliberately desaturated, prioritizing environmental harmony and visual comfort...\r\nThe creation was mentally taxing, and the installation process was arduous. For someone of my petite stature, it was overwhelmingly massive. Like waging a battle, we fought through sleepless nights against the clock. Forget filming videos—there wasn't even time to take photos. Although the on-site installation only took a day or two, the preparation required using both hands and feet for a full seven days. Therefore, this is more suitable for inclusion in a comprehensive design proposal.\r\n\r\nThe color palette evokes an autumnal oil painting; however, if not handled carefully, it can easily appear dirty or excessively bleak. By contemplating the significance of \"installation\" within architecture, we returned to the original intent.\r\nThe tea room spans three floors. Originally an old local residential building, after foundation and beam reinforcements, many wonderful alcove-like spaces appeared in the second-floor ceiling. Almost every wall had a window opening overhead (see the last image). Once our installation artistically connected these points, the previously empty 5-meter ceiling was instantly filled with a resilient sense of life, like new buds bursting forth.\r\n\r\nThe construction process was incredibly arduous. For five consecutive days, I craned my neck while shuttling between six installation points, shouting over the noise of stone-cutting saws. My hair grew drier by the day amidst the flying dust, and my throat grew more painful by the day. After all, each layer of bamboo strips offers different shaping possibilities—it can be as rugged as the Sogetsu school of Ikebana, or as elegant as a ribbon. This time, the thickness was different from before; the bamboo strips were processed very finely, slightly thick, and—to the extent of slapping against my face—I can only say, it still hurt quite a bit...\r\nThe ninth image is the design draft, which originally included orange accents.
