Petrified Wood | Frozen Poetry of Growth Rings | Installation Art

Petrified wood—ancient timber transformed through millennia of geological processes into a jade-like, crystalline texture, while retaining the original grain and form of the tree, presenting a dreamlike blue-green hue. For this sculptural installation, we adopted a fluid, flowing form, as if capturing an ancient dead tree in the midst of its petrification process. Utilizing the flexible nature of paper, we kneaded wrinkles and ripples to simulate the unique textures formed during the wood's transformation, creating a three-dimensional structure that is both resilient and dynamic. Ru porcelain sculpture 2.0—this time we created a scaled-down version, redesigned the form, adjusted the material ratio, and deepened the overall color tone.
