Spatial Art Installation | Crafting a Group of Hummingbird Nests with Corn Husks

Spatial expression using natural elements. Inspired by the lightness of hummingbird nests, this is a set of suspended installations crafted from corn husks. The process of heat-treating the corn husks was... a sensory ordeal. The entire time was accompanied by a strong, pungent smell reminiscent of livestock, and visible black particles kept appearing. Halfway through, I had to wash and trim all the leaves again... exhausting and time-consuming. In the end, I discovered that you can actually buy food-grade corn husks—the kind used to wrap corn cakes—which arrive perfectly clean and ready to use. That would have saved me at least three entire processes...
