Green Wind || Bamboo Art Installation | The Art of Blending Green | Dragon Twister for the Dragon Boat Festival

Nestled amidst the forest of skyscrapers, there is a longing to embrace the leisurely greenery of the countryside; Listening to the chirping of cicadas and croaking of frogs, yet also yearning for urban prosperity. May fervent hearts transform into the driving force for struggle, Like a gentle breeze sweeping past, Letting the raw nature of the fields disperse the accumulated gloom. Linking and interacting with one another, Novel urban concepts radiate out to guide the development of the surrounding areas. The convergence of two currents creates wind, Blending the color of "Qing" (green/life), gathering momentum. ●●● My first collaboration with Daoming Bamboo Weaving, representing Chongzhou's bamboo art, participating in the Chengdu Happiness and Better Life Top Ten Projects Community Development Governance Achievement Exhibition. I am small in stature, but I love creating medium-to-large installations; the bigger they are, the happier and more excited I get. This nearly 3-meter dragon twister was perfectly timed for the Dragon Boat Festival. Before installation, everyone who walked past it said it looked like a giant, adorable Zongzi (rice dumpling). Although it took three days to make and was only displayed briefly, summarizing lessons during the production process was invaluable experience. After all, each layer of bamboo strips offers different shaping possibilities—it can be as rugged as the Sogetsu school of Ikebana, or as elegant as a ribbon. This time, the thickness was different from before; the bamboo strips were processed very finely, slightly thick, and—to the extent of slapping against my face—I can only say, it still hurt quite a bit... The ninth image is the design draft, which originally included orange accents. However, during the on-site installation, I felt that the multi-layered greens were sufficient and didn't require extra contrasting colors.
